Your role in our powerhouse

As a Performance Engineer, you will act as the bridge between our developers and DevOps engineers. Your mission is to optimize applications and infrastructure to ensure top-tier performance. Our applications primarily run in PHP/Symfony on FrankenPHP, meaning you should also have a solid understanding of Go. Profiling is a key part of your work: you will use profiling tools or our existing Grafana stack to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.

Additionally, you will be working in a Kubernetes environment, where infrastructure is fully managed as Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You proactively think about scalability and performance improvements, ensuring a seamless and fast user experience.

You will collaborate with a team of experienced developers and DevOps engineers, working both from our Hilversum office and remotely. We offer flexibility and an environment that encourages continuous development. We embrace a startup mentality, which means you have plenty of freedom to conceptualize, develop, and deliver new functionalities—often entirely greenfield.

Security is paramount to us. You ensure that no shortcuts are taken when handling sensitive data, aligning perfectly with our commitment to safety. We obtained our ISO 27001 certification early on, and security remains at the heart of everything we do.

What we expect from you

• Deep expertise in PHP and Symfony and experience optimizing applications in FrankenPHP.
• Familiarity with Go and experience analyzing performance issues using profiling tools or Grafana monitoring.
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge and an understanding of managing infrastructure as code.
• Passion for shaving milliseconds, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to performance and stability improvements.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers to implement enhancements.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with PostgreSQL databases, RabbitMQ, and Redis clusters.
• Knowledge of high-performance architectures and optimized workflows.

What we offer

We offer a competitive salary ranging between €4,750 and €6,750 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week, depending on your experience and skill set.
