PHP Developer (Symfony / API Platform)

Your role within our powerhouse

As a PHP Developer, you are working on a system where technical choices have a direct impact on performance, scalability and maintainability. You don't just build features, you help determine how the system develops.

Together with colleagues and customers, you translate ideas into concrete solutions and are responsible for design, implementation and quality. You work in a team of experienced developers and DevOps engineers.

Our stack runs on PHP/Symfony with API Platform and FrankenPHP. We run on Kubernetes and work entirely with automated deployments. You understand what your choices do to runtime behavior, performance and stability.

You are working on a domain where data consistency, performance and scalability are not an afterthought. Bad choices are immediately visible in the behavior of the system. That's why you look beyond “it works” and focus on how it works.

You work Agile and switch directly with the Product Owner about what is being built and why. You make explicit trade-offs between speed, quality and technical debt, and you can defend those choices.

We work in a hybrid way from Bussum or Enschede, but the team works mostly asynchronously. This means that you work independently and take responsibility.

What we expect

You have strong experience with PHP, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and Redis. Symfony and API Platform are familiar territory to you. Experience with FrankenPHP, Go and Kubernetes is an advantage. Symfony certification is a plus.

You pick up existing code without context and quickly make it your own. You see where things can be improved and change it too. Not cosmetically, but structurally.

You don't accept a code that “works” alone. You rewrite, simplify and structure until it's right. You make conscious choices instead of quick fixes.

You see technical debt immediately and don't let it go. Refactoring is not an isolated moment, but part of how you work. You think in terms of systems, not in terms of separate tickets.

You dare to question other people's choices and substantiate your own choices in terms of content. Discussions are about the best solution, not who is right.

You communicate clearly and directly, without noise. You write code that others can understand and improve.

This is what we offer

We offer a salary between €3,750 and €6,750 gross per month based on 40 hours, depending on experience and level. In addition, we offer 27 vacation days and a 3-pillar pension plan through Brand New Day.

Every week, you get a 'level-up' day to work on your own development, explore new techniques or better solve existing problems.

You work from Bussum or Enschede, with the option to work mostly remotely. The method is substantive, direct and focused on quality, not on processes around the process.

Digital Claim Solutions (DCSolutions) develops platforms for dealing with personal injury claims. We help insurers accelerate processes and make them more manageable. With our self-developed solutions, we simplify claims processes, accelerate processing and improve customer satisfaction. In this way, we ensure that victims receive the help and compensation they deserve more quickly, while at the same time relieving the pressure on the care system.

Our software has a direct impact: claims are dealt with more quickly and victims get clarity sooner. At the same time, we work under strict security and privacy requirements.
